Five thousand years ago there lived a man name Ji Xuan Yuan, son of Shao Dian. He was the leader of a large tribe of people who lived along the banks of the Ji River in South China.

On Chengdu Heavenly Mountain there lived a tribe of great giants, able to fight tigers barehanded and win every time so great was their strength and fighting prowess. Their strongest and largest was called Kuafu, who some say was the son of Shennong. His strength, size and speed were truly amazing to behold and he was a wise and just leader loved by his people. He was held in great esteem all across the heavens.

Once, long ago, there were no rivers or lakes at all and all of the water of the world was contained in the Eastern Sea. Four dragons lived in the Eastern Sea: the Long Dragon, the Yellow Dragon, the Black Dragon and the Pearl Dragon.

The two great mountains Taihang and Wangwu were not always where they are today, nor were they always the same size. Once, they were one hundred thousand feet tall, and located south of Jizhou and north of Heyang.

It is sad that long ago on Mount Duso there grew a great forest of peach trees, and the greatest of the trees was their king. In the shadow of his branches he shaded two stone huts, wherein lived the brothers Shen Tu and Yu Lei.

Some say that the Yellow Emperor Huang Di and the Sun God Yan Di were brothers, each having been given half of the universe to govern. While each reigned contentedly over his own land, the people lived in peace and prosperity.
