Da Rang Shu, the Big Banya Tree, stands on the south bank of the Jinbao River, 7.5 kilometers away from Yanshuo. This amazing tree is 17 meters tall, 7 meters wide, and approximately 1500 years old.

The Zhuang The Zhuang

The Zhuang are known by a number of different names in different places, including Bushuang, Buchuang, Bunong and Buman. The Zhuang are descendants of the Tai peoples, a group that migrated south from central China 5000 years ago in search of more fertile soil.

The Miao The Miao

The Miao subdivide themselves into a number of different groups such as Long Skirt Miao, Short Skirt Miao, Red Miao and Black Miao. They are descendants of the clans and tribes indigenous to the Yellow River basin and the south and middle reaches of the Yangtze River.

The Yao The Yao

The origins of the Yao are disputed, but most believe that they are related to the Jingman and Wulingman peoples from Changsha, called the Muyao and Mango tribes respectively in ancient times.

The Shui

The Shui are the descendants of the ancient Luoyue tribe that lived along the southeastern coast of China before 206 BC.

The Mulam

According to historical records, they have lived in the Luocheng area of Guangxi province since the Jin dynasty.
