Both plane and three-dimensional ivory carvings are sold all over Kunming. Subjects such as birds and flowers are the most popular.

Kunming is famous for its beautifully carved wood furniture including chairs, benches and tea tables. Classical furniture with inlaid marble designs is also popular and widely available.

The Annual China International Copper Conference will take place in Kunming in southwest China’s Yunnan Province in Oct. 2007. It is expected more than 300 people including 70-80 foreigners will be attracted to attend the conference.
